Kate is an undergraduate student in the Kaur Lab at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Molecular, Cellular, and Organismal Biology. Under Simon's mentorship, she is developing technical lab skills of fly handling, molecular biology, and genetics. She hopes to pursue a master’s or Ph.D. in topics of cancer immunology or chemical engineering to innovate therapies that can offer advancements in the world of medicine and science. She balances her research and academics by hanging out with friends, watching shows, and visiting different cafes.
