Michaela Romero is a Post-Baccalaureate TA at UIC. She completed her B.S in Biological Sciences at UIC in Spring 2026 and has aspirations of applying her training towards a Ph.D. in subjects related to Cancer Immunology or Microbiology. In the Kaur Lab, she will be developing methods for programmable editing of symbiotic genes to decipher their phenotypic outcomes and mechanisms in vivo.
Aside from research, she finds herself powerlifting, modding keyboards, collecting Pokémon cards (particularly Bulbasaur), and enjoying time with her friends.
