Nandhini is an undergraduate student in the Kaur Lab at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Molecular, Cell, and Organismal Biology. She is building her skillset and experstise in several basic lab techniques encompassing molecular biology, genetics, and microscopy to investigate complex host–microbe interactions at the sub-cellular level with the end goal of developing microbial-based translational applications. She hopes to pursue a Master’s in Biological Sciences or an MD/PhD pathway in Integrated Biology and Medicine. Outside the lab, she is a blogger at UIC Radio, an avid reader of diverse genres, and is also pursuing her training in Indian Classical Carnatic music for over 8 years- she also enjoys other genres of music like pop, indie and R&B.
